Ingredients:
- 1 sheet frozen puff pastry, thawed
- 1 pound fresh figs, stems removed and halved
- 2 tablespoons honey
- 8 ounces mascarpone cheese
- 1/4 cup powdered sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/4 cup sliced almonds
- Fresh mint leaves for garnish
Instructions:
Get the oven ready by heating it up to 400F 200C
On a floured surface, roll the puff pastry into a rectangle
Place the dough on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper
With a knife, cut a 1-inch border around the edges of the pastry
Be careful not to cut all the way through
Ivory the inside of the dough with a fork
Place the fig halves on top of the pastry, inside the lines you made
Put honey on top of the figs
The dough should be golden brown and puffy after 20 to 25 minutes in the oven
Mix the mascarpone, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract together until smooth while the tart is baking
Remove the tart from the oven and let it cool down a bit when its done
Spread the mascarpone mix in the middle of the tart
Toast some almonds and sprinkle them on top
Before serving, sprinkle with fresh mint leaves
