Ingredients:
- 1 cup 2 sticks unsalted butter, softened
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 8 ounces cream cheese, softened
- 1/2 cup powdered sugar
- 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
Instructions:
Warm the oven up to 350F 175C and grease a 9x13-inch baking pan
Put the softened butter and granulated sugar in a large bowl and mix them together until they are light and fluffy
The eggs and vanilla extract should be added and mixed in well
Mix the flour, baking powder, and salt together in a different bowl
Slowly add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture and mix them in until they are just combined
Press down on about two-thirds of this cookie dough to make an even layer in the baking pan that has been prepared
Its best to use a different bowl to mix the softened cream cheese and powdered sugar
After putting the cookie dough in the pan, spread the cream cheese mixture on top of it
Add small amounts of the rest of the cookie dough to the cream cheese layer
Spread the semisweet chocolate chips out over the top in a thin layer
In a hot oven, bake for 25 to 30 minutes, or until the edges are golden brown and a toothpick stuck in the middle comes out clean
Before cutting the cookie bars into squares, let them cool all the way in the pan
Serve and have fun
